Never had a trumpet lesson before?

If this is your first time playing trumpet or you’re looking for information for your young beginner, all you’ll need for your first lesson is your trumpet, notebook, and pencil. Your trumpet teacher will probably suggest some warm-up, method, or etude books along the way to give you plenty of material to work on. If you’re buying or renting a trumpet for the first time, all trumpets come with a detachable mouthpiece. Some trumpets come with cleaning supplies as well as valve oil which is integral for the regular maintenance of your instrument. Be sure the trumpet you’re purchasing is in the key of Bb, there are some C and D trumpets out there but for a beginner, Bb is the most common key. Beginner trumpets can cost anywhere from $150-$1,500 or more. For most beginners, a trumpet on the lower end of that range will do just fine!
