At Collingswood Sound, being in a band is not actually a class, but a real band experience guided by a professional musician/educator. Students will be placed in a band based on level, age (usually 10 & up), and experience with their instrument, and participating in a band is a great way for students to reach the next level of their musical abilities. The genre of the band will mainly be decided by those in the group, as we try to match like-minded musicians with one another to cultivate growth. Each week, students will prepare songs to rehearse for a performance, work together to choose repertoire, and gain the essential skills of successfully being a part of a band. Students that want to be a part of a band should be taking lessons outside of rehearsal, however this is not required.
