When talking about my new business, Collingswood Sound Music Lessons, one of the most common questions I’ve gotten is “Why Collingswood?” Being an Upstate New Yorker at heart who traveled to Philadelphia for school, now living in South Jersey, I understand the confusion.
The first time I visited Collingswood, NJ, I fell in love with the cute little town. All the locally owned shops like Grooveground Coffee and the Pop Shop, the excitement of people walking along Haddon Ave, the Knight Park being so close to everything… It all reminded me of Cooperstown, NY, a place I spent much of my childhood traveling to for dance lessons. I felt right at home in Collingswood. Little did I know, it would be home.
Sean and I researched different areas to decide where to start teaching music lessons, and Collingswood seemed like the right place. We loved the presence of the arts throughout Collingswood, with music themed coffee shops, record stores, dance studios, art therapy studios, etc. And once we decided on this location, everything for our business seemed to come together, and we were able to decide on the name “Collingswood Sound.”
We are so excited to be a part of Collingswood, and are happy to see our business growing with the community.
