About Andrew
I’ve been a private music instructor for nearly 20 years, teaching students of all ages and skill levels. I specialize in guitar, bass, keyboard, music theory, songwriting, composition and music production. I’m also an adjunct faculty member in the Music Department at Rowan University and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. My teaching focuses on building strong musical foundations and confidence, encouraging creativity and helping each student reach their own goals. Whether you’re just starting out or already an advanced musician, I bring a supportive, engaging and practical approach to every lesson.
Alongside teaching, I’ve spent nearly two decades working professionally as a musician, producer, composer and recording engineer. My credits include recordings featuring Snoop Dogg, work with Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated artists and producers, and Billboard-charting remixes. I’ve secured publishing administration deals with Universal and Sony/ATV, and my commercial work has earned a Clio Award and a D&AD Wooden Pencil.
My music has appeared in more than 2,100 TV placements on networks including Fox, CBS, MTV, ESPN, VH1, History, National Geographic, TLC and Bravo, and in ad campaigns for Pepsi, Verizon, Dairy Queen, 3M and Sizzler. As a performer, I’ve worked with platinum-selling artist Vassy and opened for Snoop Dogg, State Radio, Biz Markie and Chiddy Bang. I bring all of that real-world experience into my lessons to help students grow, explore their creativity and build a lifelong love of music.

How I got started
I started guitar lessons when I was eight, and around the same time began drum lessons through my school band program. I loved playing instruments, learning new things and expressing myself creatively, and that grew into a lifelong passion that led me to a career as a professional musician and music educator.
What I love to play
Jazz, rock, blues, funk, soul and R&B. I’m especially drawn to music with improvisation. It’s one of the most fun and creative parts of playing, and it lets me try new ideas and connect with other musicians in the moment.
My advice for beginners
Learning music may not be easy at first. But if you enjoy it and are willing to put in the time and effort, the rewards are well worth it. With patience, dedication and consistent practice, you can go a long way as a musician.
A favorite teaching moment
Seeing how far my students have come. Former students have gone on to become professional musicians, tour with national acts and perform alongside major artists. I’ve even crossed paths with some of them at my own gigs, and now I get to work alongside a few of them as peers.
An obstacle I overcame
When I first started, I struggled with keeping time, reading music, improvising and building skills on different instruments. Practice, patience and hard work got me through. That’s one of the best things about learning music: it teaches you perseverance and shows you what you can accomplish when you put in the effort.
What’s next for me
I’m focused on playing music I’m passionate about and exploring the styles I enjoy most. Music has always been about having fun for me, and I want to keep growing as a musician while making music with others.
