About Meg

Hello! I’m a composer, performer and music educator from West Chester, PA. I teach piano, voice, songwriting, composition, music production and recording, and trombone. I bring my knowledge of music theory and composition to every lesson, so students can apply what they learn to any song or piece they choose. Every student is different, so I tailor each lesson to the individual.

I earned a BA in Music Composition with a minor in Music Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology from the University of the Arts. I’ve written dozens of pieces for various ensembles and released an album on all streaming platforms in 2019. Since graduating I’ve kept performing and composing, mainly for musical theater, and I’ve taught students from 5 to 84 years old.

How I got started

When I was 7, my parents bought an upright piano for my older sister, who had just started lessons. I started messing around on it, and after a few hours I’d taught myself the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean. My parents knew right away they had to get me lessons too.

What I love to play

My family listened mostly to show tunes and classic rock when I was growing up, and their love for both definitely rubbed off on me.

My advice for beginners

Learning to read and play music is like learning three new languages, so don’t give up! The beginning is the hardest part.

What’s next for me

I’ve written songs for short musicals, and I’d love to finish a full-length musical in the next few years.
