About Patrick

Hi everyone! I’m the Director of Choirs and Spring Musical at Kingsway Regional High School, the very school where my own musical journey began. Before that I taught Pre-K through 8th grade general music, choir and band, plus adaptive music classes for students with developmental and learning disabilities, so I’ve worked with students of all ages and skill levels. I earned my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from Rowan University in 2020.

I’ve also taught private voice lessons in South Jersey for nine years. I specialize in classical, musical theater and jazz singing, with an emphasis on strong, healthy technique, and I have lots of experience helping students prepare auditions for community and regional theater and for college music and theater programs. I firmly believe anyone can learn to sing.

As an alumnus of the Philadelphia Boys Choir and Men’s Chorale, I’ve performed with the ensemble on and off for over 18 years, on tours to Spain, Germany, Argentina, Uruguay and China, on Good Morning America, with The Philadelphia Orchestra and at Carnegie Hall. I also sing with The Greater South Jersey Chorus.

Took a cello class in college, because it’s his favorite classical instrument to listen to.

How I got started

My parents actually met because of music. My dad’s 80s cover band was holding auditions for a new singer, and my mom walked through the door. The rest is history!

What I love to play

I sing and play a lot of musical theater because my students are so passionate about it, but my favorite style to perform is jazz.

My advice for beginners

Don’t give up just because it’s hard sometimes. It’s a journey, and we have to fail in order to succeed. What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

A favorite teaching moment

Seeing my choir featured in a local newspaper after a benefit concert, and having one of my students win the SJCDA Founders Music Scholarship in 2024.

An obstacle I overcame

As a kid I was so afraid of singing in front of anyone but my mom. She always told me to “share my gift with the world,” so as I got older I made myself sing and perform as much as I could. Now I try to give my students that same confidence.

What’s next for me

I hope to be a source of positivity and inspiration for my students, the way my music teachers were for me.
